Let's hear it: what suburb reminds you the most of Squirrel Hill? What would be a runner up?

Montclair, NJ, though it isn't particularly Jewish.

Short Hills-Millburn-the Oranges, NJ, which are still kind of Jewish.

Dormont and Mt. Lebanon remind me a lot of Squirrel Hill. Brookline does, too, somewhat. Obviously, Squirrel Hill is more upscale, though.

Not in terms of cultural makeup, but in terms of shopping/restaurant streets and walkability. Thanks!

Brookline is within city limits, but it could easily be considered a suburb. After all, it was originally a streetcar suburb of Pittsburgh.

Brookline looks like a neat place. Anyone know how the bus service to downtown is from there?

Oakmont because of the hill, lack of crime, good local shopping and restaurants.
