Hi,

I am looking for an apartment in Pittsburgh, Pa. I am a recent graduate from college so I want to be with other people in their early 20's or 30's. I am on a pretty tight budget so I need somewhere that has pretty cheap rent but I also want somewhere that is a safe place. I have a roommate so I will need an apartment with 2 bedrooms and two bathrooms if possible.

Does anyone have any suggestions??
I like Southside, Mount Washington, Bloomfield, Downtown, and Greenfield.

Definite tight budget. How much can you spend?

Out of your list, Greenfield and Mount Washington are the most affordable.

Southside and Bloomfield will depend on how big your budget is.

Forget Downtown. Way to expensive for anyone on a "pretty tight budget."

I also think you'll have a difficult time finding two bathrooms in your price range.

Between my roommate and I, we do not want to spend more than $1,000 a month total. We would prefer less though. A lot of places that were cheaper were in really bad neighborhoods.

The two bathrooms won't matter but we need two separate bedrooms.

We really would like to get down to $800 a month if that is possible.

Sorry ignore the last two comments! I was trying to figure out how to edit them and I couldn't. We are trying to keep our budget between $600-$800 a month. If we could find less than that, it would be great.

We do not need 2 bathrooms but we do need 2 bedrooms.

If you don't like what you can find in your budget in Bloomfield, you might try Polish Hill. It is safe but typically a bit more affordable than Bloomfield.

Speaking of Polish Hill, this unit is located very near to my own apartment and seems to be a great value at $525/month for a 2-BR. You will most likely NOT find anything cheaper than this for a clean 2-BR in a safe neighborhood of the city.

Polish Hill - 2BR - Great Area! (http://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/apa/2526400383.html - broken link)

I'm about a 35-minute walk to Downtown and can also walk to Bloomfield, Lawrenceville, or Oakland in about 20-30 minutes from where I'm located. We also have ample bus service. The neighborhood sorely lacks commerce, but the nearby Strip District can make up for a lot of that.
