If you are near Robinson, check out Stansburys in Carnegie. It's on W Main St. Basic cuts are $12, and they have what you are looking for.

You read it right! I wouldn't dare make a threat towards the kid. I doubt the barbers would either. This is friendly advice. However, there are guys who patronize that shop who would frown on him making such public statements. There is a "code" in the streets, and since UK seems to operate in these streets, he'd be wise to understand it. His statements about illegal transactions in the other shop were probably worse, and is the kind of thing that could cause him problems if certain people got wind of it. The "streets" don't like people who run their mouths. It may seem preposterous to some of you, but illegal activities tend to attract people who are a bit bold and reckless. As the daily news tells you, these are folks you don't want to get on the wrong side of if you have to regularly cross their paths.

Herodotus is for the most part right... There's a saying "being a G' is a secret," and I've spilled enough info in about 400 post to get my azz kicked!!! But it doesnt matter since not like some gang banger will want to track my down... Although I don't say peoples names, which would really get me in trouble out on the streets...
Also, maybe the time period we went to the baber shop on Brownsville Road was different because I can recall lots of "stuff" that happened with/to the barbers in/out of the shop! But I won't get into dealtials for the whole world-wide-web to see though.

Now days the baber shop in Homewood doesn't have the old van stationed on the corner any more... That was a pretty long time ago (when I was a small fella). In thoose days the East End was still tryin' to mimick Compton. Back then I can remember: hustlas playing dice games on the corner when the weather was warn, local punks snatchin' chains, vivid graffiti everywhere, gangs having open gun play with rivals gangs, underground rapping, bootlegging & all kinds of dirty $$$ made on the street (dope game, pimp game, dogfighting, etc).

AS long as you don't tell anyone you're the "Uptown Kid", you will be fine.

Of course! That's why I said there's no street on the internet.

But it was in interesting insight into a part of culture that I do not understand. I most certainly can talk IRL about any illegal activities I know about without fear. Blows my mind why innocent adults would perpetuate a don't snitch code by keeping quiet about violence. It's like never leaving high school. I mean, I get it, there's danger. But if a community took a stand together and stopped protecting people who do violence there wouldn't be a need to fear. They'd have to change the way they do business if they wanted to continue doing whatever business they're trying to protect. It's like there's a huge underground society and a whole community of innocent people are being held hostage by the thugs hiding among them. At least, that's how it appears from the outside looking in. It seems insane the innocent people are telling each other to keep quiet.

I didn't think you would be worried. I thought Herodotus' "warning" was inappropriate for CD and the internet in general.
