I have a Nikon D40 with the 18-55 lens as well as the 55-200. However, it is a hassle when I want to switch from zoom shots to pics that show more data closer up. So is it worth it to get the 18-200 lens? It's $800. The camera was $450. LOL. But all the reviews I've read are very positive.
I mainly take city scape shots. I switch from close ups of architecture to skyline shots with my 55-200 and then pics of people with my 18-55. I would like to be able to take in more info, but the 55-200 does not zoom out enough. And the 18-55 isn't VR so I can't take pics from the car. I drive around with friends a lot (I'm 16) and take pics, but it's a hassle switching lenses. That's why I think this 18-200 will be a good choice, but I just want some expert opinions.
