Kind of a dismal year in this area. Weird weather has really screwed up the color this year. Very dull muted colors (if they turned at all and didn't just turn brownish and fall off), hardly any reds at all. Don't know if the Maples are going later this year, or if they were just so dull they didn't stand out. This year has made it so you have to work to find a decent "Fall color" photo. Here are a couple of mine.
I noticed that when I was in the northern part of the state a week ago. Seemed like the only color was orange. Just orange, orange everywhere. I still enjoyed the color, but it wasn't really what I was expecting. Maybe due to lack of rain? And then there was a lot of hype about having a great color season here in the southern part of the state. I thought it started out really good, but everything faded pretty quickly and most of the trees were bare by this past weekend, which I don't think is normal for this part of the state. I think "strange" is a good way to describe it.
Bydand, you may be disappointed in the colors this year, but these are still wonderful photos. I especially like the second one where the barn adds another pop of color. You've framed the barn nicely with the trees, and I like how the trees are casting shadows across the road. It makes me want to take a drive in the country.
