Beautiful shots! Either that fishing pole is hooked to a down rigger or you got one. A big one!

It's on a down rigger...The scenery was great, but the fishing was slow. we ended up with only three chinook salmon for the trip, but they were decent fish between 26 and 35 pounds.

My son's boat.

My home in the forest.

The beach at Friendly Cove is a rock collector's paradise...

Tide pool creatures.

Mussels and Goats foot barnacles.

Bear problems...There were three bears raiding the camp daily, and many coolers were not a safe place for food. One bear even climbed on top of a camper, ripped the roof vent off and tried to get in that way.

Spectacular shots, and gorgeous location, Sanspeur. Looks like a grand time was had by all, including the bear.

Marvelous photos, Sanspeur. The sunrise ones were simply stunning! Not being much of a morning person, I think I've shot only one sunrise my entire life. Yours make me want to try, but I'd probably have to stay up all night to do it.

The birthplace of British Columbia is the small community of Yuquot, also known as Friendly Cove, the site of the first contact between Europeans and First Nations people in British Columbia. The original Catholic church in Friendly Cove was built by Father Brabant in 1889. The cornerstone of the church bears an inscription commemorating the spot on which John Meares, a retired lieutenant of the Royal Navy, built and launched the schooner Northwest America, the first European vessel built on the northwest coast of North America.
