yikes is there a animal rescue of vet that helps wildlife out there?? this fellow needs some help given the moss and now knowing there is worm under his shell....he's been dormant for too long for some reason...an shouldn't he be burrowing down in the mud by now???

That may have been where he was headed, to burrow down, 'cause within a half hour, we headed back the same trail and he was gone.
