I'm glad you like my pictures, thanks for the rep, I wish I was that close to the mountains!!! We're going in Jan to see what winter is like.
The first photo looked like rural southern Ontario but the rest, definitely not here.
I know the southern Appalaichains are amazing, though for me as far as whether or not to live there, it's a bummer that year-round they're cooler than I'd prefer. That being said, most areas are usually as warm, warmer or a lot warmer in the day than the Toronto area, sometimes much sunnier too, so for a vacation it's a nice break in every respect. I love approaching a mountain tunnel on the highway where it's 2000 feet up, with mature trees on top that only look 1/8th of an inch tall.
I always love driving through them on the way to Myrtle Beach. I haven't seen much of western NC, but I've seen plenty of western VA, WV, eastern KY and eastern TN.
Thanks for reviving this one, KewGee. I would have never seen them otherwise. Wow, ILNC you are talented. Love it. This is what I want to know how to do!!!! I'm soooo envious....in good way!
Your pictures are very nice. I've been through that area many times and I love it down there.
