steve-o,
Hey I was researching the internet in regards to a HUGE! ( by my standards of course having never EVER seen one before) SCORPION i saw and sadly (i'm sure) murdered last night outside of my apartments, i live here in las vegas nv and my apartment complex is saying some dumb crap about how they aren't poisonous i'm not buying it.
this thing was approx 4 in long ( with its tail up) and a light greenish gold clear color with medium sized pincers and a shorter squatter tail.
i don't know what this thing is, or if its dangerous, or if there are more!
they say ( the apartment complex) that they are going to shave the palms out here and "power spray" during the day mind you, and i've read over and over again that isn't effective AT ALL.
and finally there are a TON of black widows out here, and they are saying they can't do anything about them...
i need some information, i have never seen so many poisonous creatures in my life ( originally from san francisco) and i want all the information i can get. if it would help i can take a picture of its poor smushed body for you, if you think it will help, i buried it so the kids and dogs wouldn't play or mess with it.
i know i sound like an idiot, mostly cause i am, but you seem knowledgable about these things and i want to know what you know.

Sounds like you squashed a Vinegaroon... They can be very light colored if they have been underground away from the light. They will also curl their tail to "mimic" a scorpion. (they are also called "Whip-Scorpions") The first one I ever encountered was kind of a cream color with greenish markings on it's back.
Unless of course you saw a hook shaped barb at the end of a tapered tail...that would be a real scorpion.
I've sort of did some googling and never really came up with an ID of this spider. This is the underside. It is far from a good picture but maybe someone knows what it is. Thanks
This was a backlit photo of a dragonfly taken with a long zoom - I wish I could have gotten a better view of the face, but I like the detail in the wings:
