The DSLR you choose is practically insignificant. The important thing is to have fast lenses that create a smoothly blurred background and soft bokeh.
The 85mm 1.8 targetisb2011 recommended is a great lens for food photography (and portraits as well).
Playing around, I shot this with an ancient Canon 10D and a forty year old Vivitar Series 1 70-210mm F3.5 lens. I shot it at the widest aperture F3.5, and carefully focused to make the label of the bottle as sharp as possible. The creamy background blur and bokeh (round out-of-focus) highlights are easy to create with fast lenses. Even a basic 50mm F1.8 prime is excellent for food photography. Both Canon and Nikon make an inexpensive 50mm F1.8 lens.
