Please read the appropriate DISCUSSION THREAD to be up to date before posting. You may post as many photographs in the discussion thread but the actual contest thread is limited to one photo.
The theme of the photo you enter in the "Theme" contest is determined by the winner of the last contest.
To be able to stay on a monthly schedule, the last day for submitting entry photographs will be five days before the end of the month, ie, if the month ends on the 30th then photos must be submitted no later than the 25th. If the month ends on the 31st then photos must be submitted no later than the 26th. Etc...
There are 31 days in July 2013, so, entries will end on July 26th, 2013.
The poll will be opened the day after the last day for submitting entry photographs.
Only users who have been registered on City-Data over 30 days and who have at least one valid post may enter the contest or vote on the contest. (Rule added Feb 3, 2012)
One photograph per contest and one vote per member.
You must have been the person who took the photograph which is entered. (Rule added Apr 1, 2012)
All photographs must have been taken within 30 days of the date you submitted them.
This is a Honda F20C. It's one of the highest HP-per-liter production engines in the world; it puts out 240bhp and revs to 9000 RPM's, which is absolutely stratospheric, but only has a 2-liter displacement. Everyone hates on Hondas, but no... this engine is basically half of a formula 1 V8, and with the internal work I've done to the engine, it propels my S2000 from 0-60 in less than five seconds.
Beyond that, this particular engine has driven me from LA to Seattle and back, and from LA to SF and back dozens of times. It's driven me through some of the most awe-inspiring areas of the West Coast; it's been there when the sun has set over PCH and it's screamed into the night as the LA and San Fernando Valley basins have unfolded on either side of Mulholland Drive. It's blazed through morning mists in the Cascade Mountains, across the Bay and Golden Gate bridges, over the Hoover Dam and into through the Arizona desert, and into the Grand Canyon.
It's carried me, jittery and excited, to the house of a girl for the first time, and then away from her house from the last time, months later, heartbroken and confused. It's carried my uncle to the hospital to meet his son for the first time, and carried me away from a cemetery where I said goodbye to a friend for the last time. It's literally driven me from one chapter of my life to the next, countless times.
