I usually just use worms, never bother with fancy lures. I usually catch a lot of rainbow trout and catfish, never seen bass in the lake but heard they're there.

My advice is if you have a vehicle capable of going there, go to the north end of Lake Pleasant from Table Mesa Road, the river feeds into the lake, and last time I was there you could see the trout spawning like crazy. If not just go find a spot coming in from the main entrance from Carefree Hwy, drive around and pick any spot really.

Stripers and white bass are the main fished species at pleasant. In summer there are cats and panfish, but everyone goes for bass it seems. Never heard of anyone catching trout there. It is not stocked with trout. Canyon Lake on the other side of the valley get trout plants.

I use frozen anchovies for stripers. Keep em on dry ice, cut em in half and drop in places you see "boils" or find schools with the sounder and drop in there. Bass are like everywhere. Crappie are going to be in the brush. Stripers congregate near the inflow areas up lake to spawn in the streams coming in this time of year. Pleasant can be tough to fish as the water is clear as glass. But this year I hear it is murky with the storm inflows so its a different game. Maybe more rattles and such would work better.
