I have to do this project for my astronomy lab where I basically record what time the sun sets. I have to have a clear view of it. I don't have a car so I can't really go far. So I was wondering if there were any places in the Northern Phoenix/Glendale area where I could view a decent sunset.

Thank you.

Is Piestewa Peak too far? Any of the other mountains in the Phoenix Mountain Preserve shoudl work fine.

Thunderbird Conservation Park. It's a couple miles north of the 101 on 59th.

I second Thunderbird Conservation Park off of 59th Ave. Kind of a hike to get up there though, but you can see pretty much the entire valley from there.
