Hi folks - could you give me a rundown and your opinion on these two stores? Which is your store of choice?

I'll be in Maricopa in the next couple of weeks and will be needing to get some groceries but am uncertain which is best.

Thanks in advance.

It depends upon the individual store IMHO------each outlet seems to have its own 'personality'.

Why I say that is I am normally not a big Basha's fan; but, the one in Lake Havasu City (south end) is absolutely gorgeous

And; most Fry's stores leave me cold as well; but the Tempe store at Southern/Rural is great.

totally agree with the above poster. Don't know the particular stores he refers to, but in my area it's the same, some are really nice, others not so good.

Thanks folks - I guess I will have to check out both in my area. Someone told me because we are further out, that both places feel free to charge a little more for things such as red meat etc. Maybe I should do bigger shopping outside the Maricopa area?

Both my sister and I like Fresh and Easy ($5 off at every $20 purchase is pretty clever and makes shopping there a good deal. We both go there like once a week.
Due to their proximity (walking distance), I use not-so-Safeway and she uses Fry's for out more frequent trips. Another favorite of ours is Sprouts which we visit, again, once a week (open case nut mixes, rice, also fresh produce and meat).
I went to Basha's (Tatum and Bell) once and didn't really care for it. AJ (an overpriced super market chain) also owns them but Basha's is like a lower end version of AJs I think. We didn't care for either one...

I suppose everyone will have their own taste and preference.

I prefer Basha's meat, deli, and bakery over Fry's. I also enjoys AJ's which is owned by Bashas for higher end food items and hard to find meats/produce. I will never shop at walmart.

I just heard a commercial for them on the radio a couple of weeks ago and keep forgetting to check them out. Just looked on their website and I guess one is opening soon by me.

What are their prices like? Are they comparable to Food City? I just took my first trip there today and was pleasantly surprised for the most part. The produce was nice looking and cheap, but the other regular name brand products were higher than I pay at Walmart.

Any other recommendations for Fresh and Easy? I need to try out Basha's too!

I like fresh and easy, but their prices are a little higher then most. Fry's on highland and 24th st sells rotting produce.
