As I start unpacking, I realize what a pack rat I am. Need to get rid of stuff. Does anyone know if Goodwill or the Salvation Army has a pick-up? Or direct me to the nearest thrift store from I-17 and Happy Valley?

Last time I checked, Salvation Army would pick up. But only in your bigger towns. Where I live, although we have a Salvation Army, it's pretty small and they don't have pickup unless you have some major stuff to donate.

I recently saw an article on TV that dealt with donated clothes. All of them were taken to South American and sold to venders who in turn marked up the prices and sold them to the people. Can't remember which organization it was, but it was not the Salvation Army.

Default Rather give it away to people who need it.

Ya, you're right. I want to donate to an organization that will either give it to people or a non-profit.
