I drove it yesterday, from east to west. Very nice. Still have a couple interchanges to finish up. I was thinking that views of nice farmland and large property homesteads in Laveen aren't going to last long before being taken over by new development. Give it 5 years and that whole corridor will look vastly different. Also, I imagine Vee Quiva is going to get a massive boost in revenue now given they have their own dedicated exit. I had never even seen it in my 8 1/2 years of living here until I drove the 202, and I've been almost every part of the Valley.

Are the Southern or Broadway exits open? That's all I care about, as my work terminal is near there

It was originally approved in 1985, so this is long overdue.

I didn't like some of the wildlife impact that it had.

While I think it could have been built 2-3 decades ago when there was less development in the area and it was generally a good idea in the 1980s, I didn't like the idea of adding asphalt and contributing to the urban heat island effect and affecting wildlife near South Mountain. Of course, I also don't think a lot of the housing and other development that has occurred near the route in the last 2-3 decades should have ever been built either. The whole county is just way too overdeveloped.

Expect to see even more housing further from the city center.

This metro really needs to put a focus on developing the central area and establishing density/walkability.

People have been submitting this exact same post on here since the early 2000s. People in phx would rather sit in traffic for 2 hours each way than have density and walkability. If the area were more dense, they might be forced to occasionally come within the general vicinity of a homeless person, or heaven forbid, a mode of public transportation.

People want what they want, not what you wished they wanted. I love my large lot, pool/spa and 4 car garage and I enjoy driving. I have no desire to live on top of other people and ride buses but thankfully it exists for those that do.

Exactly. If I still wanted to live in a dense city, I would

For my values and my current position in life with my family I have no use for it and much prefer my current situation
