Located in the heart of the city, just north of downtown Phoenix, this is the Murphy Bridle Path. Stretching from just north of Dunlap Ave to Bethany Home Rd on Central Ave, this tree lined streetscape spans 4 miles and was created in 1895 and has remained unpaved for over 100 years.

If you've never checked it out, it makes for a great walk or jog, about 4 miles in each direction.

While walking, we ran across three mulberry trees, and to the surprise of cars passing by, I'm sure, we started to pick some and eat there right there on the street! Mulberry trees are very popular in Romania and I used to eat these as a kid and have missed them since.

Default Great Photos!

Those photos are great!

Thanks for sharing!

I do like the drive on Central Ave...

During winter though... the trees look dead w/o any foilage...

very pretty! My kids used to go to school nearby at All Saint's Episcopal Day school. I loved driving up north Central.

Nice photos, but I wouldn't want to get on the bad side of the woman in the pictures. Those nails look like lethal weapons. The Murphy Bridal Path is a great asset. Along with the Arizona Canal banks from the Biltmore to Scottsdale, it's one of the great horizontal walks in Phoenix. For more vertical walks, of course, we have the Phoenix Mountains Preserve.

I've never checked out the Arizona Canal banks from the Biltmore to Scottsdale...is the setting similar to the Murphy Bridle Path?

I always wondered if horses were still allowed on the bridle path.

All that grass.... what a waste of precious water.

Other than that, nice shots! Thats the one area of PHX that I really enjoy. It might be the grass and trees, I dont know, but its still nice. Thanks for sharing.

There isn't as much vegetation and shade, but it's a nice walk along the canal banks with some nice views of the mountains. A lot of people park at 32nd St. & Stanford Drive (b/w Camelback and Lincoln) and walk or bike from there. The whole walk through Arcadia from the Biltmore to Scottsdale would be several miles, so a lot of people just go a mile or two in either direction.

I love that area. I used to drive it everyday, but now just take 7th street.

The 7th and 8th pic down is John McCain's house that he sold last year for a few million (possibly 2-4mil, can't remember).

Really loved the pictures. Very beautifull. The trees, ducks, and homes were also beautifull.
