Hello, I have lived in Phoenix since 2008 when we moved from San Diego, we are now on our second house in the city of Maricopa. I commute daily to Phoenix and mutiple times over the years I have seen strange lights in the sky while traveling the 347.

My question is, what are they? I don't think they're flares because they move and have turned on and off. Sometimes they are alone and other times in groups of 3's and 4's. Very errie and cool to watch while driving. I have researched quite a bit and I guess this area is a hot spot to see cool things in the sky. Anyway just wanted to get some opinions on them, I know I cannot be the only one seeing these things.

If the lights were southeast, it was quite possibly the Goldwater Air Force Range.

Just a follow up...I lived in Maricopa for several years and saw them quite often. I finally did some research and that is how I found out what they were.

I lived in Maricopa in 2004 and I saw them and I'm pretty sure they are grey aliens.

Correction: I meant to say 'southwest', near Gila Bend.
