My Husband used to commute (he's in Tempe now) from Grayhawk Dr. & Scottsdale Rd. to downtown Phoenix using the 51. It took him approx. 35 min. around 6am. Dynamite is a good 10min or so north of Grayhawk Dr. There has been a lot of construction on Scottsdale Rd. because of the shopping plaza Scottsdale 1 going in. I do know they plan on widening the street which will help. You could also cut over to Tatum to pick up the 101 to the 51 and avoid Scottsdale Rd.

Hope this helps!

According to Google Maps, it's about 38 minutes in non-rush hour traffic and I would guess around 1 hour in rush hour.

It will depend where in downtown and what time you will be commuting.

When I hear rush hour traffic, how fast can you rush? I drive in Rush hour traffic and everyone is going 65 to 75 an hour. But then that is how things are in my part of California.

Honestly? Depends upon the time of day. Morning - rush hour - 45 minutes to an hour. Non Rush hour - 30 - 35 minutes.

I would think that the rush hour over there would be barely going. Your 65-75mph are what many do here on regular streets (well, more like 55-65 in a 40/45 area).
