I was looking around the forums for previous posts but didn't find anything recent. I currently have Verizon which has been great for me service wise but also pricey, so I may switch to tmobile just curious how other tmobile users are doing with the coverage here. Thank you in advance for your replies.

This is a fairly recent discussion (last month) and it touches on just about all of the available cell carriers in the PHX metro:

T-Mobile does have a Test Drive promotion where you can try out their service for a week and see how you like it, I believe you just need leave a credit card for them to put a hold on until you return the phone. I think Sprint has something similar as well. The thread that was linked just above has a lot more info.

In the Phoenix area any provider you can think of will work fine, but go outside of Phoenix very far and that may not be true. Verizon is your best choice if Coverage is your issue. The others you have to take what you can get in parts of the country.

I have T-Mobile and it's been fine for me. I have 4G service consistently in the Valley. The only dead spot that I've really noticed is out by Vistancia in Peoria. Once you get out of town a bit, things get more interesting. You should have voice and SMS service just about everywhere, but the data is spotty in places - even along I-17. If data coverage is important to you, go with Verizon or AT&T. If saving money is important to you and you don't travel much and/or don't need to be online 24x7, T-Mobile is a fine option.
