Does anyone have an idea of who these people are? They are sending out really UGLY mailings and outrageous signs all over District 4 slamming Laura Pastor. I've done my internet research and nothing comes up. If she puts up a sign, they come along and put up a big goulish zombie-like sign right in front of hers. I'll be glad when this city council run off is over and the endless robo-calls stop. I can't remember such an ugly election. Surely someone knows who's funding this group.

They filed with the City of Phoenix on 9/16. Chairman is listed as Gloria Sesma, Treasurer is Silvia Salas. Both list their address as 111 East Dunlap Avenue Suite 1-183, which appears to be an office building near John C. Lincoln. Neither name is associated with any other political committees registered with either the city or the county but both names appear on documents related to the city's 2011 NEIGHBORHOOD BLOCK WATCH GRANT PROGRAM.

Hmmm. Observer53's link to an Arizona Central article on this group mentioned an aide to Phil Gordon being the group's founder. I had just seen a 2010 article in AZCentral concerning Phil Gordon and his office slush fund that he was paying his girlfriend from....Also paying $163,000. to Patty Johnson over two years to promote Phoenix. Phil was very close to Paul and Patty Johnson the article said. Here's that article...

Gloria Sesma has also been involved with Amistad Phoenix

Silvia Salas with Unidos Padres Estudiantes Y Maestros (UPEM)

It looks like both have endorsed Justin Johnson - listed under community leaders/neighbors with La Familia/Maryvale
State, Local, and Community Leaders Endorse Justin Johnson | Johnson For Phoenix

I'm typically dubious when these organizations with bland names tend to pop up with no real agenda or platform

183 is a little tiny rental mail box in a little UPS store in an empty strip mall east of Central on Dunlap. Is this a Republican "Dirty trick?" One would think that candidates would take a higher ground.

I don't think Republican has anything to do with it here - not even on a false flag type scenario

Justin Johnson is a democrat candidate and son of former democrat Phoenix Mayor Paul Johnson

Laura Pastor is a democrat candidate and daughter of former democrat Congressman Ed Pastor

Neither of them are "democrat candidates". This is a nonpartisan election. Paul Johnson left the Democratic Party years ago, not sure about his son. Much of Justin Johnson's support comes from conservative groups. Ed Pastor is still in Congress.
