Hey folks, if residing in Biltmore is there an option to park and ride the Light Rail to downtown?

Also, does anyone have any recommendations for affordable short term (3 months) options near Midtown or Biltmore?

Thanks for all the help thusfar.

Well the Biltmore is only 3 miles east of the closest light rail park and ride which is at Central&Camelback. It's your call I mean it isn't a huge deal at all to drive a couple miles to park your car. And what is your definition of "affordable?" Generally anything decent in the Bilmore area or Midtown will be on the pricier side (by Phoenix standards).

Thanks Buckeye, that seems ideal. I'm looking to spend $600-800 for a studio or 1 bed.

I've found some decent options, but always nice to know if there are certain recommendations from the locals.

You could actually just drive your car downtown pretty easily from the Biltmore area.

I doubt you will get such a short-term lease near that price point. Anything under one year is exponentially more expensive. Some other options include:

1) extended stay motels. will be within your range if you pay monthly
2) rent a room in a private home. Less privacy but much more flexible lease terms and you could save some money
3) depending how far out you are looking and what time of the year it is for, check vrbo.com. You could negotiate with a private owner who does vacation rentals and hopefully strike a deal to rent the property for several months. If they know they won't have to find other renters they will likely accept a bit less for that guarantee. Probably not a good option in winter though as vacation rentals are at their highest prices then.

I recommend Budget Suites at 7th Ave and Indian School. That is right in the heart of Phoenix, 6 blocks from the light rail station at Central and Indian School, and for between $700-$750 a month, there is no lease or credit check, big laundry room, grills, and all utilities paid, cable and HBO, pool, 1 bedroom, full kitchen, grocery store next door, just provide your own linens, dishes and microwave, and add a few little personal touches to make the place comfortable for 3 months.

Keep in mind that the Biltmore area is pretty exclusive, and encompasses the neighborhoods NORTH of Camelback between 24th & 32nd Streets. Very few people other than millionaires can afford this area. Many people mistake the Camelback East area as being part of Biltmore, but they are really two separate districts. Camelback East is the area between approximately 16th Street & 44th Street from Camelback down to about Thomas or so. I have sometimes referred to Camelback East affectionately as the Biltmore Slums.
