Has anyone spread bermuda seed yet this year? Wondering if I should wait until it's hotter.

I've got some spots I need to reseed. I am waiting until mid-May when nights are above 65. It is kind of marginal now, but when you plant you keep things moist. With the dry air and evaporation, the temp where the seeds are is getting to 45-50 at this time of year, I think. Too cold.

Planted some bermuda about two weeks ago and is it is just now starting to sprout. Also started watering bare spots in the yard to get the bermuda runners to fill in the spots. About the same results, taking two weeks or so for the runners to get going, but already have a few that have traveled 7-8 inches.

General rule of thumb for bermuda grass seed is to sow the seed when there has been at least 3 nights in a row when the temps are 65 degrees or higher. This is when you're apt to be most successful.
Fluctuation in temps now can make growing erratic meaning you takes your chances until it warms up steady with night time temps.
