I have out of town guests coming to visit for my brother's upcoming wedding and would like some restaurant recommendations. I'd like to take them to a place in the east valley that has decent food but since they will undoubtedly be drinking, a place with even better atmosphere. I am open to any type of cuisine with the exception of sushi (sorry-ugh!)... In my mind I envision a place with great lighting and a "warm" feeling - like a Tuscan villa, or some sort of Italian place...maybe where Hoffa is buried
Thank you!

Cibo in downtown Phoenix sounds like it fits the bill of what you're looking for with the great lighting and warm feeling.

Cibo's not East Valley, but it's nice. As far as East Valley goes, threads like this tell me I should get out more. I'll keep the thinking cap on though, and hopefully others with ideas will chime in.

It's definitely not East Valley but the Different Pointe of View restaurant at the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs resort in North Phx is fantastic. It sits on a hill with awesome views of downtown and the city. Food, service, and atmosphere is suburb. The cuisine is a little bit of everything. Definitely worth the drive imo if you really want to wow your out of town guests.

Sassi is the only place that is somewhat like an italian villa with warm lighting with good italian food, but it's in N. Scottsdale.

La Calabria might work - other than I don't remember the lighting being very warm. They treat you like family, though, and the food was good.

Tutti Santi would be another good option. A little fancier.

For the best view in the East Valley, try Las Senda's.

I agree with this, it's a nice place to take out of towners, as it's not a chain or even the usual steak place, with the historical aspect of it.

Again, not Italian, but the food is good and the view spectacular (and not as far or as pricey as Different Pointe of View, which is very nice).

OP said they are open to any type of cuisine. I think many in this thread missed that and are stuck on the Italian theme.
