Curious to know if anyone knows if you can convert older homes in Estrella from electric to gas.Or can natural gas be added to a home.I am interested in some of the older homes there because they are in a closer proximety to the lakes but not too crazy about electric heat and an electric stove.

If there's no natural gas service into the area where the home is, then there's no way to convert. Southwest Gas doesn't cover the entire Valley, by any means. And, as far as I know, they are the only game in town for natural gas.

Observer has hit the nail on the head, Mikeanajesse.

If Gas is in the area then the conversion / add-on isn't too major, however, if not, FORGET IT, unless you chose to opt for Propane.

My home is All-Electric and Electric Heat has never been a major problem as it is rarely needed . . . since I don't know how, nor care to learn to cook, Electric Cooking is even less of a concern but I understand it does take time for you Gas Lovers.

Good Luck

Nope. Many people have electric heat even if they have gas service. Electric heat hetr means.a heat pump. Heat pumps are much more efficient and green than gas. Heating is a minor expense either way.
