Hi,

I am a single lesbian, looking to leave Calfornia and settle into a new community, that is affordable, comfortable, good weather. It is imporatant to me to have a gay community as well. Where in Arizonia should I go?

Thank you

In one word: Phoenix.

There are scads of GLBT clubs, etc. roughly from Central Ave on the west, Camelback to the north, 16th St east and Thomas south.

Tucson; despite its so-called 'Liberal' reputation is not well liked by many Gay folks-------several GLBT's flat told me that despite my being straight (I know of what I speak of there, I have gone out to festivals, etc. with Gay friends).

I'm hetero, I couldn't tell you.

Soooo....I think your best bet would be to call some of the gay or lesbian bars in Phoenix and ask the bartender(s) - they would have the most up-to-date gay community info and would know best, right?

I looked it up for you and I suppose this page will be helpful for all of the numbers that you would need to call to find out what you need for Phoenix:

gayphoenix.com/clubs.htm - in case the link doesn't show up.

gay phoenix men, phoenix gay bars, gay videos, personals, chat, gay realtor and community resources

I'd say Central Phoenix as well. There's a GLBT community here, you just have to find it.

Funny, it sounds like you are the one who is being judgmental here. In my opinion, you'll see what you expect to see.

Have fun in Seattle.

Good grief! You make it sound like Phoenix is somewhere in the back woods of Idaho, or the deep South. I know many people (mostly from work) who are gay. They mix in very well, and everybody that I know of is very accepting of them.

I think the person who is narrow minded is you. Funny how so many liberals rant about everybody else being so intolerant, homophobic, or racist ... but they can be some of the most intolerant, hateful, and shallow people around!

That explains why so many women said 'No' to me in Phoenix, good grief, I was starting to think my mom was lying to me all these years when she was telling me that "I was a handsome boy"!

Btw, for a hetero guy, you sure do have a lot of gay related info ArizonaBear!
