Gays and lesbians are not uncommon anywhere. I did a service call not long ago for a guy in Maricopa. His buddy came home from the store and at first I didnt think anything of it. Until one went into the bedroom to watch tv, he left the door open and soon, his 'buddy' which I thought was his room mate, was in there, cuddling right next to him on the loveseat, they were arm in arm, watching some game show....
They left the door open so everything was pretty obvious. No, they werent doing anything more but being from Calif myself, nothing surprises me.

No kidding. I know and work with lots of gay people. They do seem to mix in well.

A couple of lesbians I know are really into the scene in Flagstaff. It's a much smaller city than Phoenix and Tucson, and it may not be your kind of place if you want a major, culturally diverse urban atmosphere, but for LGBT folk who like a slower pace in life, Flagstaff seems to be quite popular.

My girlfriend and I live in the Phoenix area (West Valley) and occassionally go into Phoenix for the bars and festivals. It certainly depends on what you're looking for and what's important to you, but we've been relatively happy with the gay scene. It's not our life, but we've had no problems and the resources are then when we want them. As others have mentioned, I've heard really great things about Flagstaff, too. Feel free to pm me if you have any questions.
