I live in Philly and I'm starting a new job in Westville, NJ. I'm curious what the rush hour commute is like from Philly to NJ in the AM and NJ to Philly in the PM.
I feel like most of the traffic is a result of people living in NJ and working in Philly so conceivably the traffic going in the opposite direction shouldn't be too bad right?

Maybe that's just wishful thinking. Any thoughts?

I'd rather be prepared than go into it thinking it'll be easy peasy and end up in traffic hell!

Any opinions or advice would be greatly appreciated!

I've used both the Ben Franklin & Walt Whitman bridges as part of my commute to get between Philly & 295 in South Jersey. Both were fine with little traffic heading out of the city in the morning (Ben Franklin even less than Whitman). The afternoon was a bit worse, but I've never had to sit anywhere except in the afternoon on 295 southbound where it intersects 76 which often backs up for MILES. Though going to Westville you can probably avoid the North/East side of that intersection.

commuting to Westville should be a breeze, especially if you live close to the bridge.

Using Route 130 avoids the bottleneck at 295/76

I tested the waters today and headed home from a friend's house in Sewell at 5pm. I didn't hit any traffic and made it back to Philly in no time flat.
It's always great zipping down the highway when the traffic going the opposite direction is at a stand still (for me at least, maybe not them).
I'll have to familiarize myself with using 130 as an alternate to use on days that 295/76 is bad.

Thanks so much for the help! It will definitely come in handy.
GO FLYERS!!!!
