My husband and I will be moving to Philly - question is - are the philly suburbs that much different? (Radnor, Villanova, Bryn Mawr and Media is where we will be looking specifically for realestate)

We're wondering if it would be better to rent for awhile to get to know all of the suburbs before purchasing a house. We are coming from the city, will both have cars and are home owners now. We're used to a walkable city, lots of restaurants and fun shops- but know that with move comes changes. We're excited to have a yard, house and live on the east coast.

Thanks!

The towns you're considering are very similar. I personally think it's a good idea to rent in a town first, especially if you're coming from another state and aren't familiar with the area as a whole. Best of luck with your move.

By all means rent a while, that will allow you to shop around for something that suits your needs. Most of the places you mentioned are on the "Main Line" and can be expensive
