Hello.

We're planning to visit Philadelphia in mid-April for 2 or 3 nights. Our options for hotels are:

Sheraton Society Hill

and

Home2 Suites by Hilton, which is on Arch and 12th.

We're a family of four, with two young kids aged 6 and 2.

We'd like to be within walking distance to as many attractions as possible, while at the same time, we would like family-friendly accommodations.

Please comment on neighborhoods, the hotels I mentioned, and any other suggestions you can think of for us. Our itinerary is fairly flexible.

Thanks so much, from your neighboring state of New Jersey!

Society Hill puts you close to the Historic areas of the city. 12th and Arch puts you closer to the business/shopping district. However neither area is far from each other as far as walking is concerned. Assuming you like walking. If sightseeing is your main objective I would go with Society Hill.

Sheraton is definitely better for being close to sights. It is in a very nice area.

Another nice thing is that -- assuming you'll be here over a weekend -- you can stroll around Society Hill at night and find plenty of activity. 12th and Arch is dead, and depending on your perspective, can feel seedy.
