Terrible... I was just in Tokyo and I though the Skytree was pretty great. Wouldn't mind them doing something like that here. But a glorified observation deck seems like a waste of money.

I think this has a very slim chance of happening anyway, which is a good thing. When it comes to observation towers like this, they run the risk of looking tacky.

I agree that it looks very cool. However...
The northern section of this project was flooded out after Hurricane Irene.

It kinda makes me think of the flooding potential that will always exist regarding Venice Lofts in Manayunk.

Have the developers thought at all about any of that? My answer. No.

A developer is not going to not build something just because the area is prone to flooding. Case in point, the ENTIRETY of Lower Manhattan is prone to flooding and streets were under water after Hurricane Irene. That's doesn't stop developers from building there.

Sandy not Irene. Irene was an Inland and New England flood problem.
