Cool article about the Penn Medicine Hospital Building. Truly one of a kind.

This was definitely the best proposal and it's really exciting to see it all moving forward. I saw politicians were meeting with the transportation about what projects to fund and Congressman Boyle specifically pushed for the capping of the Vine Street Expressway. That with a re-designed parkway, the i-95 cap, and the general Delaware river front improvements would be absolutely game changing.

Also down by the river, this is a bad picture, but some good movement near Penn Treaty. The half-finished development has been demolished and the Delaware Power Generating station redevelopment is way further along now. That's easily one of the best redevelopment projects in the country.

Newly renovated Fairmount Park playhouse offers kids serious fun as an antidote to screen time

Nice to see. I always wondered what that old building looked like inside.

I have filled this out multiple petitions in the last year. I don't think a petition will do much. They purposefully gave out the paper survey's in the mail to try to subvert the will of the people to make sure the road stays the same. It's disturbing to see, but shouldn't come as a shock when you look at what the rest of the policy this city council comes up with.

You're probably right, but not sure what else to do; it's just so frustrating that it's kept so dangerous. I would think it's a lawsuit in waiting for the city.

Because the oligarchy that runs this city worries that Washington will be a slippery slope and once people see how much better it can be with actual modern urban design, than everyone will be asking for it, and the city will get nicer. They can't be having that.

I am always critical of Harrisburg politics, but at least they listened to the community, and the Front St. to 5th St. portion of Washington Ave., that they control, has been funded and moving forward.

Haha, I'm not that cynical yet but it does feel like that is their motivation at times.
