What's there is nestled at/around CB Moore Ave. as it has been. The high rise at that intersection has changed the vibe somewhat. The shame of it, imo, is the fact the Temple Health Hospital/Shriners Hospital is blocks away from the main campus. Nothing like the cohesive whole of Upenn, HUP, CHOP, Drexel, Science Center.

Cheyney enrollment plummets amid broader decline at Pa. state universities
Even the state-related universities (the Commonwealth System of Higher Education) receive operating funds from the Commonwealth. The differences between the four Commonwealth System universities and the 14 "state-owned" universities in the State System of Higher Education is that the state-related universities have governing boards that in part perpetuate themselves as private university boards do (they do have state-appointed members, but those do not make up a majority) and can raise money for their own endowments from private sources.

Cheyney has been dying for a long time. I'm honestly surprised it's still open at all.

I am sure Toll Brothers and other developers are waiting at the starting line to get a hold of this property.

Disappointed this will be replaced by townhouses, definitely not the best and highest use for the site.

They put something on the national register and then let it sit there rather than turning the building, while it's still in good shape, into something else. What a shame.

The death/ dying of Cheyney is sad because of its hbcu status. Its origins date back to Otavius Catto the Inst. for Colored Youth.

And, "Yah!!!", about Chestnut St!

I’ve seen all this construction between the Water Works and Boadhouse Row for quite a while but this project never made it onto my radar: New boardwalk on Schuylkill overlooks Water Works, Boathouse Row.

It looks pretty nice.

The CTC lobby opens today. Looks like it’s going to have some pretty impressive art works and technology. I think they set a high bar for themselves in their first tower. Whether it matches the experience of Comcast 1, I figured they’d have to have to show off some fairly amazing technology, given that’s their game.

Comcast to open lobby in new tower to public on Thursday
