I need information regarding taking a train to Presidential City Apartments to visit a friend who recently moved there. Never used transportation in Philly area and a bit intimidated. I read that the "R8 train station" is 2 blocks from Presidential City and wondered if it were feasable to take a train there from Doylestown and how hard it is to navigate this bus system.
Other option is taking a bus to the Greyhound station at 10th and Filbert and what would taxi fare be over to City Ave.
Thank you!

You could take the bus to 10th and Filbert - then walk a block to Market Street and take the 44 bus. That will take you right to the Presidential Apartment. Very simple.

Thank you!!!
I will have a suitcase and can I take that inside the #44 bus and it will just be at a bus stop at Market and 10th would it be.
Also, how much is it and do I pay cash with exact amount?
I really feel dumb regarding all of this and hoping to travel there frequently.
Thanks again!!

You can take the suitcase on the bus, although if it's rush hour and the bus is crowded it can get in the way (but people do it). The bus stops along the north side of Market Street traveling west. I believe it stops at every block from 10th to 12th and Market, but there are signs posted, so you will have no problem. The exact change bus fare is $2.00.

And the only dumb people are those who don't ask questions.

You will do just fine and note the 44 bus stops in the middle of the block, not on the corner. And it's the Presidential Apartments on City Line Avenue, not the Presidential City Apartments.

Default Are we talking about the same place?

I may have explained this incorrectly.
It is that the high rise at 3900 City Ave. (is that the same a City Line Ave.?)
Presidential City Luxury high-rise apartments in Philadelphia, PA

Thanks again!

I think it's probably the same. They may have changed the name. At any rate, I checked and the bus info remains the same.

I live in Overbrook so I'm familiar with City Ave. Take the train to 30th St Station. Then catch the 44 bus toward Ardmore or Gladwyne. Get off near Presidential Blvd and City Ave.

That works too - depending if it's easier for the OP to take Grayhound into center city and get the 44 there, or to take the train to 30th Street and get on the 44 there.
