This is nothing new for PETA. They believe animals should be wild. They are anti-pet, because they think it's slavery to "own" a dog or cat or fish or whatever else. In the twisted, sick mind of the PETA member, an animal would be better off dead, than cared for by a human in a house.
And so, they promote the "ethical" euthenasia of abandoned pets or other rescued animals, and do -not- promote adoptions.
PETA was taken to court over dumping hundreds of deceased dogs in a dumpster behind a grocery store. They are a disgusting organization trying to make people believe they are pro animal rights but I think they are pro their high paying jobs. The trial was held in Virginia if anyone wants to Google it plus there are court cases where dogs were dumped in other states.
I always thought PETA tried to help animals, lab animals, legislation for animals, etc... Has me floored.
Consider this -
PETA is known to organize paint parties -
A bunch of them gather outside some fancy media-circus-type event somewhere, where they know lots of celebrities will attend. They stand outside, paint cans ready, and douse whoever they see coming down the stairs wearing a fur coat.
What does this accomplish? I'll tell you:
It ensures that the animals that already died to make that coat, died for nothing.
It also ensures that a few hundred more animals will die, so that the celeb can replace the coat PETA just destroyed with a new one.
So instead of that celebrity wearing 20 dead minks...
PETA has just guaranteed that the celebrity will have worn 40 dead minks, by the end of the month.
I think they get kickbacks from the fur industry, personally. They're a lovely little profit-maker for coatmakers, who have to make more coats to keep up with the demand after PETA has ruined the last batch.
I always thought PETA tried to help animals, lab animals, legislation for animals, etc... Has me floored.
A lot of people have been duped by PETA. So many of us just thought they were radical pro animal people who set lab animals free and were against fur coats. But the word is getting out about their atrocious behavior dealing with "rescues". Google the court case mentioned and you will get a lot of information. It boggles the mind really. How can somebody claim to be pro animal and then kill innocent dogs and cats which might have been adopted eventually. sick sick s.i.c.k. http://www.petakillsanimals.com/
I've known about PETA for a long time, but I never saw that chart at the bottom of the page before. A decade ago they did adopt out some (not that many) animals. Now it's only a fraction of a percent. I wonder what changed
When called on their lack of effort to adopt animals out, they always say they take in the unadoptable ones. Are animals so much less adoptable now than they were in the late 90's-early 2000's? I'd like to hear them explain that away.
