Something tells us this might not end well. Enzo is a massive, nearly 400-pound Bengal tiger who lives not in a zoo but in a private home in South Africa with his owners, Michael Jamison and Jackie Smit. Enzo's been in the family since he was just an adorable nine-week-old cub, and a year later, the cat eats alongside the couple's 14 dogs and enjoys stretching out on their bed and sofa. We really, really hope Enzo doesn't eventually wake up one morning and pull a Humphrey — he's the pet hippo who killed his long-time owner (who was also South African), even after the pair went on "Oprah, " so the farmer could show off their relationship.

Pair tempts fate by keeping a 400-lb. Bengal tiger as a pet

This isn't anything new. Lots of people want to think they're special and try to have these sorts of animals as pets. I used to volunteer at a rescue center for big cats, and nearly every one of our 90+ cats came with a story about naive owners who got more than they bargained for. That particular cat sanctuary is in Texas, where there are apparently more tigers kept as pets than are roaming free in India.

Why would you want an animal that could literally eat you alive?
