I would like to have some cash at home in case of an emergency and need some ideas for where to hide it?

BTW - I do not have a safe

Thanks!

coffee can in the back yard. bust out the shovel. it's gunna lose value though. If you are going to hoard something, make it silver or gold.

You can't spend gold or silver to pay something when it is an emergency and by the time you went to the pawn shop, those gains evaporate...I would buy a safe and put it in the closet... chances are, you are not going to get robbed... I guess you could place some kind of "homing beacon" inside the safe like a traceable gps system or something in case it ever gets stolen...

My grandma always put valuables in old food containers. Personally, I like to hollow out a book and use it.

I just have an old coffee can with my emergency cash in it buried in the back yard.
Just make sure you remember where you buried it !

Get an old pop sickle box and put it in there at the back of the fridge. No thief is going to rob your house and look through the freezer.

Then again that is assuming you have no people living in your house with a criminal mind set (ie. the dead beat son or a husband/wife with an addiction).

OK, that put me over the top...and I almost laughed out loud. My co-workers would have wondered what the hell I was doing. I can just picture what you said happening in my head. You invite some friends over and the topic gets around to money, then you tell them that you don't use or trust banks and that you have a falcon with a money sack tied to it and it only comes to you, when you call it. LOL
