Just curious.... Why'd you limit the poll to just two types of IRAs?

It's often hard to choose between these two, so would like to see how people have actually made their choices.

Roth, & 401K I Think taxes will be higher (even with lower income in future). So I have mix of 401K, that will be taxable later, and Roth that won't be.

I have a SEP IRA and a ROTH IRA.... So I guess I'll answer Roth only since you left SEP off the list.

Have both Roth and trad rollover.

Actually this thread is good reminder, gotta do the 2012 Roth contributions for wife and me with Jan & Feb investment dump instead of the taxables.

SEP isn't left off the list, it is still either an IRA or a ROTH, just for self-employed people...

I figured with 30 years + before I'm going to be withdrawing money, I'd rather have the gains tax free, plus I expect taxes to go up, so I chose to do a Roth.

Plus, I don't currently itemize, so I think the deduction now would be less helpful to me than it might be to some others.

It's not specific to self-employed people. Anyone can have a SEP.
