I'm searching for my father William Paul Hampton. His birth date is 1/1/1967. As far as I know he was born in Minneapolis, MN, and lived in Florida for a time. Florida is where he met my mother. I was told he met me once when I was about 6 months old, so he would have been in St. Petersburg, Florida at least until the winter of 1989-1990, if not longer. I was told he worked at Denny's at that time.
I'm searching because my mother moved me around constantly, and so even if he had been searching for me I doubt he could have found me. Plus, I really want to meet him now that I can remember the experience.
Maybe the guy mentioned here (http://www.vanzandtnewspapers.com/news/120/ARTICLE/6188/2008-11-11.html - broken link) as one of the survivors is him That person's father was born in 1940, so he himself might well have been born in 1967.

There is a William Hampton JR in Largo, FL. Not sure if this is the right person but maybe worth a shot because it's in Pinellas County, same county as St. Petersburg.

The info that Travelingal gave you is him and his family. It was just an older address. He had last lived in Forest Hills MD. The phone and address below should be his Father if it's current. Might be worth calling.

Hey everyone, I made contact with the father. He validated all my information, but told me he didn't have a close relationship with his son. When I told him I was pretty sure his son was my father, all he had to say was that he didn't know anything about his son's "love encounters." I realize that was a shocking phone call to get, so I am going to write a letter. In the letter I am going to tell him that every bit of information I have points to this man as having been my father. I don't mean to pester him, I just want to learn more about who my father was. I realize they didn't have a close relationship, but if any other family members did, or would like to get to know me, to please give them my information.
What do you think, or do you have any suggestions as to what else I should say?
