Palmer Lake is a great little town to live in. One significant drawback is the mail service. There is no delivery to private residences in my area, so you have to pick up all your mail from a PO Box. Usually, it's not a big deal since the post office is nice, new and conveniently located. The problem arises is when you're trying to order larger items online (ot through catalogs) and to have them delivered. Many mail-order and online retailers say they can not, or will not, deliver to PO boxes. UPS and FedEx won't do so either. I've seen FedEx trucks in my neighborhood, so I know they deliver there, but it can be a real trick to get them to deliver there, since FedEx goes by mail service maps to verfiy your address, and the post office said our address is a PO Box. It's usually hit-and-miss as to whether or not you can get the mail delivery service to understand that you live in a house and not a PO Box. It can be a real problem sometimes, especially if you do much shipping and receiving.
Anyone know a good workaround for this. Anyone know is there's ever a chance of getting real mail service in our area, or will mail service just keep declining? (I suspect the latter)
