HI. I am looking for anyone with information regarding Lester L. and Norma A. Haverty. Lester was in the US Army WW2 and served with the Claims Office Team #6828 during 1943-1945. We have never been able to locate any information about the Claims Office Team, and it seems to be phantom division. He was also a MP. Norma was his wife. After his discharge from the US Army, they both worked at Camp Hanford in Richland WA. Lester then went on to be a Police Officer in Richland, and Norma became a housewife. They had 3 sons, William, Fred, and John. They both passed away in 1983. I am specifically looking for information regarding Lester's involvement with Claims Office Team 6828, and any other information anyone may have will be appreciated.
HI! You have the correct Lester Haverty, but the Norma Haverty in Arizona is John Haverty's former wife-yes too coincidence he married a Norma. I didn't know she passed away. Do you have any information about how the Arizona Norma Haverty passed away? I know the Washington Norma and Lester passed away together in 1983. Wow, thanks for the quick reply.
Here is something on the Claims Office Office that may help?
Requests For Information - Unknown Units also you might want to ask here..... these are elite collectors and some still alive from WWII who saw heavy combat G/K43foum and other wars. Some very smart cookies here.
I just sent an email to one of the most known WWII historians in the US whom I am friends with, he will get back to me on this after he gets my email. Hang tight.
HI Chick! So much thanks to you for all your efforts in assisting me! I will patiently await for your friend to contact you regarding the Claims Office Team, and I will also look into the links you posted. We are so interested in what the Claims Office Team 6828 was all about, and was that Team dismantled after WW2.
The Lester L. and Norma A. Haverty in WA who died in 1983 lived a very wonderful life together, and unfortunately they died from a carbon monoixide leak. Yes, that was a tragic event. Both were born in 1926 and died in 1983.
The Norma Haverty/Wade in AZ was previously married to John Haverty who is the son of the WA Haverty's who passed away. In all our research, we keep coming across small things about her, but never pursued them because she is not the Norma Haverty who was married to Lester Haverty. The AZ Norma was born in the 50's. In an earlier post, you said she had passed away at age 52. I have never come across anything that lead us to believe she had died or been arrested, and no surprise she has been arrested.
Maybe you could try this site. Department of Energy Hanford Site you can also probably file an FOIA request for information. The response is surprisingly quick for our Gov.
