I am an adopted daughter who is searching for her biological birth mother. I was born August 22, 1965, in Indianapolis, Indiana, and given up for adoption. I was placed with my adoptive family when I was three days old. The only information I have is that my biological mother was single at the time of my birth, but she had two other daughters, ages 3 and 4, with my father to whom she had previously been married. I was told he was intelligent and he had his own business, and that my biological mother had worked as a secretary for the government. My biological mother herself, was adopted by her step-father. I was adopted by a wonderful family, who also adopted two other children. I love my adoptive family very much, and to me they are my real family. I am divorced with two children, a boy 16 and a girl 13. I have a Masters degree from Duke Divinity School, and am thinking of returning to school again. I really would like to know more about my biological mother, especially any medical issues that may run in the family, due to some issues that I have faced and my children may face in the future. I would like for my children to at least meet or know more about the grandmother and aunts that they have never met, and possible cousins! I am still living in Indianapolis, in the Castleton area. If anyone has any information that could possibly help me, I would really appreciate hearing from you. I don't have a lot of money right now to pay for someone to search for me.

If you knew the hospital you were born in you might be able to check for hospital records for your mother then go from there.

Thank you, Mark. Unforunately mine was a closed adoption. In my case, I am told that the date, time and city/state of birth have to be accurate, but the hospital isn't listed.
