Does anyone know if Folsom, PA (zip code 19033) has an earned income or city wage tax? Thank you.

I don't know but here's the website for the school district. Looks like there is information about Act 1 here: http://www.ridleysd.k12.pa.us/

I reviewed the entire slide show. There is an online PDF that is far more complete. Important information is omitted. We will also be affected by Act 1in Honesdale.

Important omissions:

1) Farmstead exclusions: 10 contiguous acres and used a primary residence.
You can qualify for both a homestead and farmstead exclusion.

2) protection over extraordinary tax increases: The tax increase by voter referendum can be limited by: court orders, The No Child Left Behind Act, Special educational costs, Increases in retirement payments. (Much of this can be political and render a voter referendum useless if the school decides to offer it's employeees an extra generous retirement package as an example)

3) Renters

Also, this adds another layer of government employees which will be moving the money collected from table A to table B to table C for the purposes of wealth redistribution. In doing so they will also need Workers' Comp insurance, vacation pay, pension plans etc. Then we need software developers, maintenance and their pensions etc.

The necessary taxes collected from gambling is a "maybe" by 2009.

If an EIT is rejected, will a PIT be the default?

IMO, the tax system we already have from State to Federal is way too complicated. If I cannot understand the tax code after many hours of reading publications and forms, I tend to distrust the system. Too much smoke and mirrors.
