Pike County has Centers for Developmental Disabilities. About 2-3 hrs from NYC area. I'm sure they could refer you to a good preschool progarm in this area. I think they might have their own program, not sure. I don't think any part of PA is 1-2 hrs from Staten Island but I could be wrong.

My son is going for speech therapy next month and they seem really good so far.

Good luck.

My friend's Dad lives in Shohoa part of Pike County, he said that the special ed is great. I know I looked into Lake Wallenpaupack two years ago for my daughter and they seemed to really have a good program for her she has Down Syndrome.
