Hello, I am new to PA and I am interested in finding a BIG antuiques/old stuff store like the one shown in the attached pictures (which is in Maine). My hobby is to re-purpose small furniture pieces. I currently live in Northeast PA but would be willing to travel to see such a gem of a store! Thank you, Nancy

no help here, nabsummer.

I live in Bradford co and there's no such place. I think your best bet for small used furniture would be used furniture stores, salvation army/volunteers type thrift stores, or (best bet I think) garage sales and/or auctions in the summer.

good luck

Around here in Central PA, Lewisburg is known for having lots of antique stores. I personally have not been to any of them, but here are a few popular ones:
Welcome to Rollermills Antique Center
Silver Moon Antique Mall, Lewisburg, PA, featuring Quilts, Antique Arms, Books, Clocks, Collectibles, Pottery, Porcelain, Vintage Clothing
There is also a huge Amish market in Belleville every wednesday from March to November. You can probably find some great stuff there. Belleville Farmers Market and Auction - Belleville, PA
Also, I really like The Beaten Path in Centre Hall. It's small but has some nice furniture. https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-B...46101315447884
I'm sure there are also some pretty big ones closer to the cities. Lancaster I'm sure has some.
Good Luck!

Nancy, Adamstown on the border of Lancaster and Berks counties is home to numerous antiques stores, small and large. It is also home to Shupp's Grove, which is a large outdoor antiques flea market.

Shupp's Grove Antique Market - Adamstown, Pennsylvania

While you're in the area, nearby Morgantown also has several antiques shops.

I'm not an antiquer, and I never visit any of these stores so i can't really comment on what you should visit and what you should avoid, but there are enough antiques shops out here that you could probably spend a whole day just hopping between the stores.

edit: I found this website with a list of antiques stores in Adamstown. http://www.antiquescapital.com/antiques.htm

Guess I'm thinking antique stuff would be too expensive to repurpose?
Maybe not.

Renninger's, just a little bit south of Kutztown on the way to Lyons might be worth your while. They have a pretty big indoor section of stands as well as outdoor tables. Leesport farmers market has a big outdoor area in warmer months on Wednesdays. Gilberstville/ Zerns just east of Boyertown used to be a big place to go and maybe still is.
Lastly there's Green Dragon( look for the green dragon) in Lancaster around Denver or Ephrata Pa or somewhere thereabouts. And Adamstown /Stoudt's.
Except for Stoudt's they kind of more fall into the flea market category although there are antiques too.

You would call Stoudt's a flea market, but not Green Dragon or Leesport?

Adamstown/Denver area is the place to go. Shupp's Grove is outside and only open from the end of April until the end of October each year. It is a flea market and antiques. Stoudt's is a more high end antique mall. People often confuse the two places. Renningers in Adamstown has indoor and outdoor dealers year round. Pine Hill and Mad Hatter (located in an old hat factory) are both indoors. Another really large indoor place is The German Trading Post right off the turnpike exit in Denver, open 7 days a week. It is huge with a nice mix. Once in the area you can pick up an antique guide with all the places and hours listed with a map. There are so many other small shops it would take weeks to see them all but you can see the big ones in a weekend. There are motels and restaurants right off the turnpike exit too. I live close enough to do a day trip every couple of months. My favs are German Trading Post and Shupp's Grove.
