I'm moving to north jersey, pa, ny something within an hour or so of the metro area. I really would like to live in a town where I can get a few acres and a little bit more country style. Are there any towns within 45 minutes to an hour to north jersey that would allow me to have land for my dogs and maybe getting some other animals? I'm going up soon to check it out so please give me any info you can.

Thanks

Of course there is land, the question is how much are you willing to pay for it? It might help if you check out the sticky at the top of this forum and answer the questions.

4X4dakota,

This warning might not apply to you and you are a responsible pet owner.

One little foot note about “have land for my dogs and maybe getting some other animals” - PA does have a control law. Many people move to PA and think they can let their animals run free. While we don’t have leash laws; you are supposed to keep your animals in check and on your own property.

Many move here with the wrong idea - that this is the new frontier. People buy dirt bikes and quads and only own an acre. Their kids drive these and trespass on other’s land or on county roads. Some let their dogs intimidate and leave their scat on their neighbor’s property. These are not good ways to make friends.
