They have a good music and drama program.
They have lots of sporting teams that compete against other schools.
I find the Montessori method of education to be far superior, flexible, and appropriate than the Austrian "factory worker" method.

Multiple grades (3) to a classroom, multiple ages students to a classroom. Co-ed. No desks, group work, teaching each other, and student driven education is encouraged. Idleness isn't allowed. Grade placement is not based on age but on ability, readiness, and emotional maturity. Respect for the students from the teachers and between the students is paramount.

Secular, embracing of all religious, diversity is cherished and respected.
We homeschool. It is co-ed, they don't wear uniforms, it's religious, and we all like it. There is no set tuition, of course, but we do pay for all educational materials.

DD isn't yet "school aged" but we're also planning to home-school and are very excited about it.
I am truly surprised. Not a single person here has sent their kid to a free / government school. I assume that they do exist in the USA?
our school is public. The fees we pay are for "technology". next year we are paying to use the bus. We also have to bring in school supplies and pay for things like a zoo presentation where the zoo brings a few animals to the school. Things like music for the older kids (mine is only in K) will have a fee next year, too. I am surprised how many "nickle and dime" fees we've had to pay this year.
