Just the facts: Yesterday, a third-grade classmate told my son that he didn't like my son because of his race. We live in the Ozarks.

Agreed! I have heard some of the worst talk from a teenager about his minority classmates in front of his parents...AT the dinner table and all was acceptable ! I had to leave and rarely speak to these people anymore (friends of my hubby, he doesn't agree with their view but anyway)

Tell you child to get over it. Most people don't like other people for many reasons and race is only one of the. It is a good life lesson. Children tend to be honest about their feelings. Adults lie!
