It seems there are parents in California who have a problem with the Merriam Webster Collegiate dictionary being in their 4th and 5th grade children's classroom.... because it has a definition for oral sex.
OMG! My kids and I were just discussing this the other night while playing Scrabble. We had the dictionary out. My oldest said that in 5th grade they thought it was funny that they all looked up "sex" and thought it was being "bad" by doing so. LOL!!! I remember doing the same thing in the 5th/6th grade at school. Some things never change. LOL!!!
And those parents need a dose of reality. If they want to ban the dictionary I hope they have NEVER taken their kids to the movies and they have pulled out every single tv in their houses. Their kids ARE exposed to that and worse on tv and in the movies. Plenty of kids movies have sexual content that is subtle that goes over their heads and the parents get. Geez..........

I can't believe there are parents who still believe their kids aren't going to look for things like that. It's a right of passage.
If they think they're sheltering their children by worrying about the dictionary, they should ride the school bus with them once or twice.

Are you kidding me????????????
There are idiots everywhere in this world...it just amazes me what some people think. I bet they want to ban all sorts of other books, too. Geez.
That is hilarious. My son came home in 4th grade telling me someone googled a swear word during computer lab and got in trouble with the teacher. Lets go shut the computer lab down LOL.
