Here's a trick we used to play at slumber parties. Although for little kids, I'm afraid it would ultimately backfire on the parents because they'd have to clean up the mess.
You put clear saran wrap over the opening of the toilet and tuck it someway so that it doesn't stick out or roll up the sides after you put the seat back down (so no one sees it's there). Anyway, whoever goes pee first....you get the idea.
This would be a good one to play on your wife or husband.
Are any of you playing any fun, innocent April Fool's Day tricks on your kids?
If so, what are they?
I told my kids it had snowed and school was closed for the day! LOL we live in the south and hardly ever get snow! They were upset when they found out it was not true! But kind of funny though.

Oh, that's great!! It did snow here last night and the kids were upset...more snow!! They still had school though. The kindergartner would've been ticked if there was no school. The fourth grader would've been all over it and camped out in her bedroom!
Kids always put a rubber band across the kitchen faucet~
Oooo! My kids did this to me yesterday morning and the kitchen and I both got soaked! I was not impressed! I think a prank should make everyone involved laugh, not just the ones who pulled it! (I was also running late and had to change my clothes and wipe down the whole kitchen)

Just remember, you can teach that trick to your grandkids one day! I'm keeping a journal of everything I want to teach them....especially my son's kids!
Since our kids were out of school, I told them that I got a text and that the rest of spring break was cancelled and that they had to go to school on Thursday. The oldest figured it out, but played along for the little ones.
The littlest one was upset because she couldn't "get" anyone. I called DH's dad and asked if he'd play along. I had little girl call him and tell him that we were right around thr corner and were stopping by. (they live 3 and a half hours away). He played along and little girl felt like she "got" somebody.
